PAUSA PRANZO. Cibo e lavoro nell'Italia delle fabbriche

Friday, 23rd October 2015 at 6.30 PM at the main office of the Fondazione ISECIsec Foundation (Largo la Mormora, no. 17) in Sesto San Giovanni (MI), the photographic exhibition “Pausa Pranzo. Cibo e lavoro nell'Italia delle fabbriche" (Lunch-break. Food and work in Italian factories) was inaugurated, which has been cured by Giorgio Bigatti and Sara Zanisi in coooperation with Uliano Lucas and Fayçal Zaouali, and promoted by Fondazione Isec (Istituto per la Storia dell’Età Contemporanea), sponsored by the Municipality of  Sesto San Giovanni, Le università for Expo2015 and with the contribution of Fondazione Cariplo- Cariplo Foundation .

Also theFondazione G. Fedrigoni ‎ISTOCARTA - G. Fedrigoni ISTOCARTA Foundation  has contributed– thanks to the collaboration with MUSEIMPRESA Association - in the organization of this exhibition on the occasion of Fuori ‎Expo 2015, by giving  the Fondazione Isecsome photographs (which have then been selected) in line with the main theme, taken from "Fondo Fototeca" – dating back to 1871 -  from the Archive of the Cartiere Miliani Fabriano: photos of the company canteen in the paper mill, lunch-meals amongst the employees on occasion of the Festa dei Cartai -Paper- makers feast (S. Maria Magdalena, which is still today celebrated every year on 22nd July), Confirmation Day of the employees’ children, up to the lunch-breaks of young mothers –paper mill workers- in the company nursery school near the paper mill (one amongst the first company nursery schools to be set up in Italy, wanted by Giambattista Miliani and already operating in 1936), where they could feed and take care of their own children during break-time in their working hours. The last among a series of opportunities that enhance the historical heritage of Cartiere Miliani, in particular the digital  photographic  one, already submitted to digitization by ISTOCARTA, in the last two years,  in order to avoid continual handling and thus conserve its integrity.

To date, the historical photos protected by Copyright, are about to be introduced in a reserved area on website,, which will make them available online (entering a  password).
