Alessandro FEDRIGONI (The President)
President of the Fondazione Gianfranco Fedrigoni, denominated as Istituto Europeo di Storia della Carta e delle Scienze Cartarie (European Institute of the History of Paper and Paper Sciences). Mr Alessandro Fedrigoni holds a degree in Paper Engineering. In 1966, following various career experiences in other Italian and European industries, he joins the Gruppo Fedrigoni company, steadily rising and covering diverse roles within the company. Currently covering the role of company President of Fedrigoni S.p.A., he holds the title of "Capitano dell'Arte" (Captain of Art of Papermaking) of the “Pia Università dei Cartai di Fabriano”. Mr Fedrigoni is a member of the Assocarta Presidential Committee, and vice President of the papermaking section of Confindustria Ancona and Confindustria Trento (Industrial Associations). He is also President of the Papermaking, Paper mills and Graphic design section of Confindustria Verona.
Giancarlo CASTAGNARI (Vice President)
Mr Castagnari is the Vice President of the Fondazione Gianfranco Fedrigoni denominated as the Istituto Europeo di Storia della Carta e delle Scienze Cartarie (European Institute of the History of Paper and Paper Sciences). Mr Castagnari has held the position of Director of the ‘Museo della Carta e della Filigrana, Fabriano’ (Paper and Watermark Museum, Fabriano). As University Professor he also lectured in the History of Paper faculty from 1990 – 2003 at Camerino University. Mr Castagnari is also author of papers and books dealing with the history of paper. He is a member of the Scientific Board for the magazine “Proposte e ricerche, Economia e società nella storia dell’Italia centrale”. Mr Castagnari is a Representative member of the "Deputazione di Storia patria per le Marche" and correspondent for the Marche Academy of Fine Arts “Paul Harris”, also Fellow of the Rotary Foundation awarded by Rotary International. He is in addition the Chief Editor for the Fabriano “Pia Università dei Cartai” series of books dealing with history of Paper.
Mrs Medioli has been working in the paper industry for many years, overlooking the production of quality grade paper from the pulp to end product for the graphic design market and packaging. She has been managing the FABRIANO boutiques since 2002, including the design of many paper, leather and fabric products. Mrs Medioli is currently, and has been since 2009, the Marketing Director at Fedrigoni S.p.A. and the Fabriano division. Prior to her involvement with Fedrigoni, Mrs Medioli worked in electronic publishing and digital printing for Bertelsmann AG, she also founded the Booktailor company based on an international patent which she had developed. Mrs Medioli also worked for Vodafone in company management. Mrs Medioli is also the author of ‘Botteghe Oscure’ (Hestia, 1998) and ‘Roma’ (Touring Club Editore, 2006). Mrs Chiara Medioli holds a degree in Economics and Commerce from the Ca’ Foscari University (Venice) and an MBA with full scholarship from INSEAD (Fontainebleau).
Luigi Carlo BENNATI
Mr Bennati has covered the role of Central Manager and Director of Personnel at the Cartiere Miliani paper mill in Fabriano; Board Member of the Cartiere Magnani in Pescia pertaining to the Gruppo IPZS; Substitute Statutory Auditor for Società SICMA company in Terni. Mayor of Cerreto d’Esi from 1975 to 1980 and Councillor in the Comunità Montana in the same period. Mr Bennati is currently a Board Member of the Fondazione della Cassa di Risparmio di Fabriano e Cupramontana, and also the Chamberlain of the Pia Università dei Cartai.
Following her Bachelor of Science for Cultural Heritage - Analysis and Preservation of the Historical and Artistic Heritages, Faculty of Humanities from the University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" with the thesis Ricerca sulla Customer Satisfaction al Museo della Carta e della Filigrana di Fabriano, she moved to Milan, where she specialised in Creative Communication for Cultural Heritage at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera with the thesis “Oratory of the Blessed Becchetti in Fabriano. Project of preparation of an exhibition in the Art Gallery Bruno Molajoli”. From here she moved to Rome to the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities at the Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation (ICCD), with whom she worked in 2010 - together with the Italian Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Centres, the UNESCO Club of Foligno and Clitunno Valley – to the preparation of the exhibistion Obiettivo sul Patrimonio. Centocinquanta anni di immagini dei Siti UNESCO italiani, Trinci Palace - Foligno (PG) . Since 2011 she has been coordinator of the Fondazione G. Fedrigoni, European Institute of the History of Paper and Paper Science (ISTOCARTA), as well as a Board member appointed by the Board of Directors on December 12th, 2013.
Ulisse MANNUCCI (Well-Deserving Councillor)
Mr Mannucci has been the Director of production for the Cartiere Miliani paper mill and Curator of the Historical archive of the paper mill. He is also the author of papers regarding the paper making and watermark techniques, among which "La gualchiera medievale fabrianese" published in 1992. Mr Mannucci has also been a member of the Technical Scientific Board of the Museo della Carta e della Filigrana di Fabriano (Paper and Watermark Museum of Fabriano).
